My first attempt at composing a video. Filmed with a 7D and a Drift HD170.
As expected, the Drift HD170 delivered some great footage.
The LCD screen and remote control were what sold me on the Drift over the well-established GoPro.
Both weren’t completely necessary in capturing usable footage but definitely made the process easier.
Drift’s time lapse recording feature was also a lot of fun to tinker around with, I can see it coming to of some great use.
The unit itself is larger than the GoPro but not unbearable, plus it doesn’t look like a mini-toaster.
My only gripe was the inability to shoot 60fps at 720p.
Which now Drift allows with their latest model, a model that was released a month after I purchased mine. *facepalm
Although it may be awhile before I again decide to invest countless hours into a project that
ends up running only 7 minutes long, I will give it another go some time in the future.
